Sitting below the high tors of northern Dartmoor, where the East and West Okement rivers meet, Okehampton gets more than its share of rain, along with the odd hard frost in winter. A resin bound surface is permeable, so water drains straight through into the base rather than lying on top. Less standing water means fewer puddles on the drive and less surface water running onto the road.
Plenty of properties around the town sit on sloping ground, and farm tracks and lanes can bring mud and grit onto a drive. Resin gives a firm, textured finish with good grip in the wet, and because the stone is bound in place it won’t wash downhill or get carried into the house.
